The Problem

With the explosion of the podcast, webinar, and hybrid conference industry in the past three years, there has been an increased demand in holding virtual conferences and events. However, many products have lagged behind, failing to implement new methods of connecting organizers and speakers. Reach saves both these groups of people time by making the process of finding quality speakers, or speaking opportunities quicker and more reliable.

Two Main Frustrations

Organizers trying to quickly find a quality speaker

Speakers trying to find reliable speaking opportunities

How might we streamline the process of finding qualified speakers for organizers, while also helping speakers find appropriate opportunities?

Findings & Insights

The research for this product revolved around tapping into the tools that organizers and speakers were already using and discovering what could be improved. There were a total of six participants involved in the research study, three organizers and three speakers. Each participant was asked a series of questions that would serve to better understand the current frustrations in the market, as well as what was already working well.

User Flows

These two user flows focus on the two main user groups for this product; speakers and organizers. While they have similar sign-up processes, their experience in the app will vary depending on a multitude of factors, including: the position or talent they are seeking, and their relevant experience.

Wireframes

When designing the wireframes for this product, it was my goal to ensure both the buyer and the seller had access to a simple to understand price-ranking system. Each user flow needed to be attainable through the product’s homepage. The “cart” and “sell” buttons also needed to be accessible from the majority of the product’s pages for a more seamless user flow which would limit the user’s frustration with attempting to return to a specific page.

Design System

Part of the process of gaining trust with the user is using a cohesive design system that reflects the attitude of the product. Since blue is commonly associated with feelings of trust and reliability, it was important this product’s color palette was centered around blue.

For the final stage of this case study, I did a round of user testing. By doing this user testing, I was able to see what errors and tweaks I had to make based on how real people, who did not have anything to do with creating the product, used it. After the testing was complete, I could then update the prototype based on the information that I found.
